In both Denver and Aspen, Bob has served on a variety of public, professional, and nonprofit boards and committees, including the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Aspen Historical Society, Wheeler Opera House, Theater in the Park, Aspen Community Theater, Aspen Education Foundation, and Roaring Fork Public Radio (KAJX).
For the past several years, Bob has handled numerous mediations and arbitrations of family law as well as business and commercial disputes. He received formal training in alternative dispute resolution from CDR Associates in Boulder. |

Following a few years of private law practice in Denver
with former Governor Dick Lamm and a term as Assistant
Attorney General for the State of Colorado (1966-68),
Bob maintained a general law practice in Aspen for over
thirty years, during which time he also served as Aspen
Municipal Judge, Pitkin County Judge, and Acting Aspen City Attorney. In
his law practice, he emphasized real estate
transactions, family law, banking, land use, and
international commercial and mining transactions. His
representation of mining interests took him to West
Africa more than twenty times, and a three-year stint as
general counsel for a world-wide manufacturer of high
speed snow removal and airport support equipment
afforded him extensive experience with transactions and
governments all over the world.
