In 1973, he moved with his family to Aspen, Colorado, and continued to practice there until retiring in 1993. While in Aspen, he expanded his areas of concentration to include real estate and mining law. Throughout his career, he has advocated, whenever possible, the avoidance of litigation and the negotiated settlement of disputes.
In both Michigan and Colorado, Pete has served on a variety of public, professional, and nonprofit boards and commissions. While in Aspen, he was president of the Aspen Rotary Club, president of the Aspen Mental Health Advisory Committee, a director of the Aspen Ski Club, a director of the Colorado West Regional Mental Health Centers, and on a State Bar Grievance Panel. He has consistently provided pro bono legal services to the nonprofit sector.
Pete and his wife, Nancy, have recently relocated to Crestone, Colorado, and have just completed the construction of an energy efficient home at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Pete will be available for alternative dispute resolution in the San Luis Valley as well as the Roaring Fork Valley. |
